Olaf Mengeringhausen's work includes sculptures and paintings with a wide range of subjects and styles.

When he moved from Germany to New Zealand he brought with him a high level of technical skill, a master technician diploma and a master teacher diploma from Düsseldorf.

Mengeringhausen's sculptures reflect his previous life in industrialised Europe combined with the new impressions and perceptions he gained, especially through New Zealand's nature.

His sculptures often create a lasting and powerful relationship between the work, the viewer and the space they enclose.

His works such as those in the " SPIRAL series ", a playful translation of the natural environment into elegant abstract sculptures, document the standards the artist sets for the aesthetics of his own works.

Mengeringhausen's works are in private collections all over the world.
